2021 - Global Supply Chain IssuesAustralia is starting to see the effects of the global supply chain issues.
There are world wide difficulties accessing containers and the cost of shipping these containers have increased exponentially. Port congestion and a shortage of container shipping capacity may last into the fourth quarter or even mid-2022 says Hsieh Huey-chuan, president of Taiwan based Evergreen Marine Corp. The cost of sending a container from Asia to Europe is about 10 times higher than in May 2020, while the cost from shanghai to Los Angeles has grown more than six fold according to the Drewry World Container Index. Here at Orford Refrigeration we are not seeing any stock manufacturing issues, but we are starting to see massive increase in the cost of importing. Along with increases in container costs we are seeing delays in shipment times. We will keep you posted as much as possible
